Hannah Busby – Compliance Analyst – Compliance

I originally joined Castle Trust Bank as a Call Centre Associate before moving into the Quality & Training team. The opportunity to move into second line came up and I joined the Compliance team. I knew the role would present me opportunities to keep learning and growing and it has not failed to deliver on that yet!

What did you do before joining CTB?

I worked in retail for a few years, then before joining CTB I worked in B2B telesales.

What attracted you to working for CTB?

When I joined, Castle Trust were a small firm that offered investments and specialist mortgages with big plans to grow and expand, so I knew that meant there would be plenty of opportunity to develop my career here.

What roles have you had since joining CTB?

I joined CTB as an Investments Call Centre Associate and then after 6 months, I moved to the Quality and Training team as a Q&T coach. After spending a few years on the team, the opportunity to move into 2nd line came up and I joined Compliance as a Monitoring Analyst. I now work as an Analyst in the Compliance Advisory team.

What attracted you to the role that you are in today?

I knew the role would present me with plenty of opportunities to keep learning and growing, and it hasn’t failed to deliver on this yet!

What (and why) do you enjoy most about the role that you do?

I really enjoy the variation that I get in my day-to-day role. Supporting all areas of the business means I get involved in a number of differing queries and projects across the bank.

What have you found challenging about your current role?

The role is super fast-paced, so it can be challenging to switch from one business area to another throughout the day when queries arise and shift your thinking to a whole different set of processes and regulations. Days where there are meetings with multiple different areas of the business always keep you on your toes!

What training and development opportunities have you / are you receiving?

I have had the opportunity to complete an external course on Compliance Monitoring techniques and have also taken advantage of some of the internal courses that are being hosted by the L&D team, such as conflict management.

What makes CTB a unique place to work?

I find the culture at CTB to be collaborative and ‘achieving together’ is one of our values I see demonstrated regularly across the bank.
